Medicines are a familiar sight at home. Coming from a family of nurses, I suppose it's only natural for me to keep a well-stocked medicine cabinet. And this is the reason why taking medicines was never a feat for the little man. He can actually brave even the most odd-smelling, weird-tasting antibiotics without much struggle. Ack, I can't even stand the stench (lol!) of his Clariget!
When I received these goodies from Unilab Philippines, I knew as soon as I opened the package that this is something the little man would like. Inside were...
VitaPops!
The first and only Vitamin C in 'pop rocks' form - and they're now available in the market! Kids will surely love how the 'candy' pops and fizzles inside the mouth. And they get to boost their immunity while they're at it.
Each sachet of VitaPops contains 50mg of Vitamin C. That's equivalent to the amount of Vitamin C found in 5 glasses of milk, 28 pieces of calamansi, or 1 1/2 glass of freshly squeezed orange. And all that for just Php 10 per sachet!
Kids as young as the little man (he's turning four in November, by the way) can already take VitaPops. This product comes in a non-acidic Sodium Ascorbate formulation, which can be consumed on an empty stomach sans adverse reactions such as stomach irritation and allergies.
Don't worry about the popping and fizzing - that's what makes this 'medicine' fun to take. The 'candy' pops as a result of moisture coming in contact with the Carbon Dioxide-containing granules - the 'candy' dissolves, the gas escapes, and then it produces the popping and fizzing sound.
That being said, VitaPops is safe to take and FDA approved. After all, this new product comes from United Laboratories (Unilab), the makers of Ceelin.
And because the little man is a Ceelin baby, it's not surprising that he loves VitaPops just as much. Perhaps even more. :)

Gwen loves Vitapops too! It's very smart for Unilab to come up with this.
What clever packaging on that! I've always liked pop rocks myself;)
Glad you found a vitamin that he loves! I just tried another that was said to be super-great-tasting and it was awful! :( Will look into these - thanks for sharing!
whoah! is it suitable for a 20s like me? i may not be a child anymore, but sometimes i act childish. lol..
Wonderful! If it's non-acidic on the tummy, I wonder if that means it's also easier on tooth enamel?
^^ Laughing at Janine. :)
This is a good concept. I love the popping sensation factor...pop rocks were totally awesome.
VitaPops is proof that healthy can be fun! My son can't get enough of VitaPops!
I sure wish we had this when I was a kid as it would have been easier to take those vitamins back then. Great idea to combine vitamins and popping candy in one.
Thanks for sharing your experience on VitaPops! :)
Thanks for sharing your experience on VitaPops! :)
Great idea... my only problem with this is that when my kids has sweet stuff, he does not want anything else for awhile. Even if it is healthy. Perhaps in the future though!
looove! kahit old na ako i wanna try this one too. :) im sure kids love this kasi parang candy lang :)
Rovie,

It's been over a month since we tried our first pack of VitaPops -- yes, myself included, hahahha! Really tastes good and my girl loves it!
my niece loves vitapops as well.
He kept on asking for more!
I got some samples a while back but haven't gotten around to letting the kids try them. Love the whole idea of vitamin C in pop rock candy form! :D
I've already read a few blogs about Vitapops, but I can't stop getting amazed. It's so nice that there's finally a Vit C formulation which seems so fun for kids :) Now, I want to try this for myself!
xoxo,
The Purple Doll
