Homer Simpson and I have one thing in common. We share the same love for doughnuts. My most favorite brand being
Krispy Kreme, the end-all and be-all of doughnuts.

I love Krispy Kreme so much that their
Original Glazed doughnuts were one of the few things I craved for when I was pregnant with the little man. My husband could only shake his head in chagrin and disbelief each time I'd ask for KK doughnuts, because back in 2008, there were only six existing branches - the nearest being the Bonifacio High Street branch. Imagine how 'near' Taguig is to Laguna, haha!

That being said, it's no surprise that my son loves Krispy Kreme, too. He's a doughnut monster himself, and can devour two Original Glazed d's in one sitting! And so whenever I can, I bring home a box or two of our all-time favorite variants.

The Kit Kat Doughnut is our new favorite variant. Part of the Nestle Chocolate Collection, this square-shaped chocolate doughnut is glazed with white chocolate, topped with a bar of Kit Kat, and drizzled with chocolate.

If you haven't tried the flavors from the Nestle Chocolate Collection, better do so now as they'll be available until October 30 only. It's only a matter of time before they're gone!

As for KK, who turned 75 last June, I'm sure there'll be many more birthdays to come.

ReplyDeleteI love love love KK too. And their original glazed is one of the very few things I'd gladly indulge now that I'm sticking to a low cal diet. It's a weakness of mine.

We also love their original glazed, the family fights over the last piece every time, so 1 dozen is our regular order. My girl likes that chocolate with sprinkles too!

ReplyDeleteI had no idea about the Nestle chocolate varieties! They sound amazing! My fondest food memory is walking into a KK where they made the donuts onsite and being offered a hot glazed donut right off the line. One of the best things I've ever eaten.
ReplyDeleteI live in South Africa. We don't have KK here. Is that such a bad thing? Is a love for donuts such a good thing? Personally I don't think so :-)

Oh! This chocolate collection is something that I want to try soon! My fave before was the Hershey's Cookies and Creme, I think it's high time for a change. =)
ReplyDeleteHa, my daughter was just asking last night when we could have Krispy Kreme again. I think we will be having to stop by there soon. Those glazed donuts are a huge weakness of mine!

ReplyDeleteI feel you sis! I also studied at UPLB and the only chance I get to taste KK is whenever I travel to Manila, or whenever an organization sells them (fund raising).

ReplyDeleteEven if I try new variants, I always go back to the Original Glazed. But sometimes I hanker for a different one, only sometimes though. :)
ReplyDeleteEven if there are a ot of KK competitors I still miss its sweet and melt in your mouth goodness..nothing beats Original Glazed of KK :)
ReplyDeleteI like Krispy Kreme too though I keep my doughnut intake at a minimum. I also love their coffee as it has a richer taste.
