Actor Ko Soo has made a resolve to show the world that he is more than just a pretty face. In his latest movie “Love 911″, which will be released on December 19, he plays the role of a firefighter who lost his wife due to an illness. He blames himself for not being able to keep his wife alive, when his job is to save people’s lives.
Ko, who debuted in 1998, focused mainly on TV dramas during the early part of his career. He took time out in 2006 for his mandatory military service and since his release, he has been concentrating on movies instead.
In an interview, Ko said, “I wanted to make films from very early on in my career, but I didn’t feel confident enough. I finally plucked up the courage after leaving the military and I became increasingly attracted to movies, especially the quick and intense production schedules.”
He further shares, “Having to find a new project every three to five months keeps me on my toes, and I think it’s keeping me from getting old. But I’m worried that my image and looks may be overshadowing my talent as an actor.”
“In the past, I thought I was too young, and I avoided new types of roles because I felt I wasn’t good enough, that I wasn’t ready. But now there are so many things I want to do. My looks may have helped me to come this far so far, but from now on I’ll work harder to be regarded as an actor who has nothing but passion for acting.”
