One of my mommy friends from the little man's school has been missing in action since the start of the week. Apparently, their family moved house over the weekend, and my friend is the one overseeing everything - packing and unpacking of their stuff, loading and unloading of their furniture, and the interior decorating of their new home.
And from what I heard, there were even a few mishaps along the way. They had to make several trips from their old apartment to the new house because the moving truck wasn't spacious enough to load their stuff all at once. The movers weren't too careful either, and one of her precious vases broke into pieces as their furniture were being unloaded from the truck.
Had she availed the services of Demenagement Montreal, she could have saved herself from all the trouble, and her precious vase would have been safe, too.
Moving house is a Herculean task. But with careful planning, and with Demenagement Montreal assisting every step of the way, moving wouldn't be as burdensome. They have moving consultants that do ocular inspections prior to moving. A packing crew carefully prepares the family's possessions, while highly-trained van operators and their crew will do the loading and unloading. Finally, there are so-called destination members to assist the family as they settle in their new home.
Perhaps my friend and her family hasn't settled in completely. Either that, or she's still nursing a broken heart over her shattered vase.

Wow ... I feel for her. I moved houses 3x in 3 years. Not good. It's a living hell.
Moving house is really stressful- especially when you have kids in tow. I hope your friend gets to sneak in some "me" time too.
Moving is such a pain. We paid a little extra for a company we KNEW was reputable. I hope your friend's situation improves soon!
Moving house is not for the faint hearted! Apart from all the practicalities there's also the mourning about what you're leaving behind.

We moved to our current home four years ago and the preparations are so stressful and tedious. It's really inevitable that some items will be broken or damaged. :(
What makes that company better than others? Is there a way to see the damage reports for them compared to other companies?
We are planning a house renovation next year and the prospect of moving out of our house and back again makes my knees weak. :(
Oooh, that was pretty stressful. Moving is a tough job. Hiring professionals to do it for you is way better. Less stress. :-)
Moving house is really very hard especially when you have a lot of stuffs. It's a good thing that there are movers who can help you in moving residence.
We moved recently and I know what a pain that can be. Fortunately, we didn't have anything to break. I feel for your friend, though.

I feel sorry for your friend. My husband and I constantly move countries so I pretty much know how back-breaking it can be. We use Asian Tigers more often than not.
Professional movers definitely lessen the stress--- lessen, but not completely eliminate it. Moving is no picnic, sadly.
Being anal, I still pack some of the nonfragile stuff like clothes (I don't like strangers touching them), my doll collection, books, pictures, etc.. I let them take care of the rest. :)
we just moved house also! and i do agree that movers helped tons of everything! mkes it a lot more stressfull thinking that we move inot another country haha. xx
moving is really painful
