Sounds like a feat? Not really. Although I must admit, at first I thought I wouldn't be able to survive with this diet program. No sweets, no junk food, no cola, no rice - WTF?! But now I'm on Day 22 of the program, and very happy with the results so far.
A few days ago, I posted an Instagram photo of the Orange Ginger Chicken dish that I cooked. Some of my friends and readers asked me to post the recipe, just so they'll have an idea of the kinds of food that they can eat while doing the HCG Diet. Request granted, ladies!
Orange Ginger Chicken
Ingredients:
100 grams chicken breast, cut into chunks
1 medium-sized orange, quartered
2-3 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 tsp basil
1 tablespoon fresh ginger root, peeled and minced
juice of half a lemon
black pepper
Procedure:
1. Preheat pan over medium heat.
2. Sprinkle chicken with pepper.
3. Add chicken to pan and stir fry until brown on all sides, about 5-10 minutes.
4. Add garlic and cook for a minute.
5. Squeeze juice of orange quarters over chicken.
6. Peel and separate orange into sections.
7. Add orange sections, ginger, lemon juice, and basil. Stir well.
8. Cover and simmer for about 20-30 minutes.

Hi! Silent reader here! Food is fuel. It's okay to eat as much as you want as long as you eat healthy. The problem today is that people eat food-like products (read: processed foods). I am also on my journey to being healthy. I am not an expert in any way. I believe that eating clean and training dirty is the best combination. Losing weight is different from being healthy. Just a concerned reader. ;)

ReplyDeleteI like the flavouring of the orange garlic chicken with the slightly sweet and sour taste.
ReplyDeleteLooks easy enough for me to try! I have to questions: [1] How many people can eat this? [2] if it's for your own consumption, do you eat all of it in 1 sitting or do you divide it into several meals?
ReplyDeleteThank you! :)
Oh! This sounds good I might try some day! Congrats on your diet program!Aja!
ReplyDeleteHi Dems!
ReplyDelete100 grams is good for one person, one serving. I made it 200 grams though, kasi I'm cooking for me and my son. :)
oooh, delicious!! just watched yesterday on tv another recipe about oranged chicken nuggets (from scratch). she added loads of butter, though. :P
ReplyDeleteno rice? ever? ohmygoodness...di ko ata kaya yan! lol. lots of luck with the diet regimen, sis!
and thank you so much for sharing and linking over at Food Friday!
happy weekend!
This sounds delicious but I would have to not put in the ginger--somehow it does not agree with me. Be careful on this diet--you may be eating too few calories so that when you ultimately lose all you want to and you start eating a bit more you might gain some of that weight back--you need at 1000 - 1200 calories!
ReplyDeleteLooks good TY for the recipe -- I just did Sweet and Sour Chicken last night -we useually get it take out but I wanted to try homemade- - maybe this will go one the menu for next week =D

ReplyDeleteDear Candyhottieliciousness,
ReplyDeleteI deleted your comment because as per MY rules, hateful and spiteful words are not welcome in my blog.
I am not asking YOU to do this diet, nor am I asking my readers to do so. Whether or not they would like to try it out, that's their own discretion.
Also, in case you didn't understand the HCG program includes BOTH the drops and the VLCD. You can't do the 500-calorie diet without the HCG because that won't be humanly possible.
Thank you for your comment, albeit hateful. Now go take your hatred somewhere else.
