Thanks to Ms. Magy of Kimchi Jib, I finally get to try something from The Saem. And one of their best-selling CC Creams, at that.
Move over, Jack Sparrow! :) |
Gem Miracle Black Pearl O2 CC Cream. |
This CC Cream is made with the famous Tahitian Black Pearl - a rare gem that contains a powerful natural moisturizer, and proteins that strengthen and rebuild the skin. Also in this product are the Tiare flower (Tahiti's representative flower known for its beauty and fragrance), monoi oil (a 'sacred oil' in Tahiti that's loaded with protective antioxidants like vitamin E), and noni extract (a popular anti-wrinkle agent that increases the skin's production of collagen).
From Tahiti! |
This is the that side of the box where English text can be found. Everything, everywhere else is in Hangul. |
Hangul here, Hangul there... |
Hangul everywhere! :) |
The jar is pretty quirky as it dispenses the product out of that black dot in the middle.
Quirky dispense mechanism. |
Out goes the product! |
Gem Miracle Black Pearl O2 CC Cream swatched. |
Blend, blend, blend. |
Left without CC Cream, right with CC Cream. |
My fresh-from-the-shower, no makeup face. |
Wearing The Saem Gem Miracle Black Pearl O2 CC Cream, plus the usual eyeliner, mascara, blush, and lip color. |
What I love:
- The classy packaging, and quirky pump.
- Mild, floral scent.
- Lightweight formula.
- Easy to blend.
- Semi-matte finish.
- Adjusts to my skin tone nicely.
- SPF 50 / PA+++!!!
- Stays on for about 8-10 hours.
- No breakouts, no allergies, safe for sensitive skin.
- Made with natural ingredients.
- Paraben-free and mineral oil-free.
- Price is still within the affordable range (around 19000 Korean Won or $19), although this costs a teeny bit more than the other CC Creams I've tried.
What you might not like:
- Pretty reflective with flash photography, but that's expected since this product has a high SPF.
- Not available locally.
But the good news is, you can purchase this product online via the Kimchi Jib website. They're sold at a very reasonable price of Php 980 each, exclusive of shipping fee.

I am pleasantly surprised at how fast you are in writing features and reviews :)
Anyway, I am bit hesitant to try new products from unknown brands especially with packaging texts I dont understand Hehe.
But this looks like a promising brand. I hope it is non-comedogenic :)
wooow! I love the finish sis!! super niiice! <3 I have never tried a CC cream.. I've been using BB cream before pero now I stopped na rin :)
I love The Saem. I wish they'd open shop here. This CC Cream is very interesting, I'd like to try it!
I would like to try this product! The SPF 50 is a good additional feature for a CC.
Obviously not marketed to me, but will pass this info along to my wife!
love a good CC cream with a SPF. The erupting cream bottle had me LOLing!
That looks like a great product. I have been looking for something like this to add to my skincare routine.

Thanks for this review. Don't laugh, but I found the information about higher SPF creating greater reflectivity quite interesting. That makes sense, of course. The whole point of SPF is to reflect the light rather than absorb it. I just never thought of that with photos. Thanks for the educational information!
Phew! That is expensive! :P but if it does what you say it can, I'd totally try it out, but then again you said it can be reflective and I tend to shine, especially my forehead, hmm, still, I'd try it out if I can get my hands on it. :D
I haven't seen a dispenser like that before. It's kind of cool though, if you use it right. Less apt to spill too, I would imagine!
I'm not a big make up user but this seems like a great product to have if it provides all that you mentioned. My daughter who loves make-up will love this!
Di pa ako nakakatry ng CC cream sis, hanggang BB cream pa lang ako. I like the pump too, very unique.
Ganda ng skin mo sis :) The cc cream looks au naturel lang but ganda din ng coverage.
You look gorgeous in both photos. I am not a make up user, but love the concept!
Thanks for the comments, everyone! :)
Hi Kath! Nag-improve skin ko after taking the collagen supplements. I swear by it talaga. :)
Hi Ruth! Yes, it is non-comedogenic. :)
love how it pumps out the product. parang just by that unique feature i wanna purchase it. haha! :)
